easy to miss this place, but find it because they have great sushi at reasonable prices. Especially if you like trying different kinds of sushi rolls, I recommend coming here. I had the misa roll and it was delicious. Check it out.

I just moved to Austin from Florida and I was looking for my first sushi place. I read a lot of reviews about this place. I thought I couldn't go wrong. I arrived at 9:00pm on a Saturday night. I didn't really want to spend to much so I got the Yellowtail, Philly, and Tuna roll. I also got the grilled Yellowtail as an appetizer. My overall opinion about the sushi is a little less then ok. After spending 12.95 for the appetizer and over 20 bucks on the rolls. I was expecting really delicious sushi. The appetizer was good, but the rolls just didn't have enough flavor. So, I'll be looking for something else.

I found this restaurant on google search and its one of the best things i've ever done! its located on IH35 and 290 The service was good, and the waitress was delightful. I ordered the Chicken Teryaki which came with soup, veggies and rice. It was delicious and the proces arent too bad either! check it out www.sushijaponaustin.com.

Check out: http://www.bento.com/tokyofood.html. Search on "sushi". Here are the two places that we recommend. There are few branches of these restaurants, so hopefully there is one near you. Tokyo's just a little bigger than Austin. The best deals are lunches. You get a set menu and option A or B. And the prices are more reasonable. Good amount of food for Y2500 - Y3000. However, for the good places, like these two below, expect to wait outside for 30-60 minutes. Even at off lunch/dinner/breakfast hours. Midori-zushi Shibuya, Dogenzaka 1-12-3, Mark City East 4F. Open 11am-10pm daily Sushi Sei http://www.bento.com/rev/0755.html Tsukiji 4-13-9. Open 8am-1pm, 5-8pm. Closed Sundays, holidays. If you've never been to Tokyo, you have to go to Tsukiji Market and witness the tuna auction. After that, make a right out of Tsukiji, walk a few blocks and you'll run into the outside market (there will be stalls of kitchenware and food). Enjoy!

Yeah, sushi Japon is really good, it has a great atmosphere and really nice decor, as well as great sushi and japanese entrees. Make sure you try the hot night roll, I have that everytime I go. Also they have happy hour from 4-7 every day which means 1/2 price rolls, .25$ oysters, and 8$ chef specials... or something like that.

sushi japon is terrific! I 've only been here 3 times, but each time was satifying . the luch special is a good value because you get 6pcs sushi and 3pcs rolls only 7.95. plus you get miso soup to drain it all down. the sushi pieces are thick. give a try and you will keep going back.

I stoped by this restaurant for lunch while visting austin with my gf becase of It's excellent reviews in austin chronicle and found them to be absolutely true to their world. This restaurant's food was mouth-wateringly delicious, service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy. It was a great value and I will definitely be going back next time I visit austin!

Very friendly service, and nice decor. My companion loved the Hot Night special roll (I'm not a big fan of the fancy rolls myself). I prefer sashimi... just the fish, soy, wasabi, and cold beer. Mmmm. Tuna and fatty tuna was very fresh. Yellow tail was not great; regular Salmon was fresh, but slightly too warm. These are only minor complaints, mind you. Overall the experience was A+. I especially enjoyed the fact that they had beef nagimaki; I have been looking for ANYWHERE in town with a nice beef negema dish, like they have at Cafe Japon in Houston. Any suggestions?

This is one of the best finds in austin . Sushi high quality yet so affordable. I highly recommend the sashimi salad with coconut dressing, japon cevichi , amigo roll ,and Itami cold sake. :-)

Sushi Japn is the best, and I agree about the hot night roll. Yum! I'm glad to hear that other people like it so much, because every time I eat there or drive by it always looks deserted. They have bought huge ads in local magazines and have spiffed up their exterior, so they're making money somehow!

:-D This place is great.  Fish is always fresh the 3 times I have been in and it is extremely affordable for the quality.  They did stop their happy hour which sucks.  For the price and the quality this place is the best value I have been to in Austin.

This place is great. I went to met a friend of mine that I haven't seen in a while, and the staff was so pleasant and didn't rush us out the door. The wait staff and manager, are both very friendly and do there best to insure repeat customers. The food and atmosphere are so comfortable that you forget how long you spent in their. Definitely a spot I'd go back to.
