Asahi Imports on Burnet is great for Japanese goods. And the giganto Oriental Market in the shopping center where Airport meets Lamar has mainly Korean but also some Japanese and Chinese groceries.

I second that recommendation. Asahi Imports is great for Japanese groceries and hard-to-find indregients. If you're looking for specifically Japanese foods, I wouldn't even bother with the other Asian markets...all of their Japanese items seem to be old and the workers are really rude. At Asahi, on the other hand, thier store is clean, the products are fresh, and the people that work there are really knowledable and friendly.
