Uchi's Tyson Cole Named One of Nation's Best New Chefs

This is Mike from Uchi. Food & Wine Magazine has named Tyson Cole one of the Best New Chefs of 2005. Tyson and the nine other Best New Chefs of 2005 will be cooking at the Food & Wine Magazine Classic in Aspen in June and will be featured in the July issue.

Tyson was the only Texas chef to make the list this year.

Wow, it took you over two months to come up with such a measured and nuanced response! I'm truly in the company of a titan. Hate the game, not the playa.

Tyson deserves it. I've enjoyed his Sushi and calm, comfortable manner ever since I met him at Kyoto downtown over ten years ago. Friends of mine from as far away as England have all agreed that Uchi is the finest Japanese they've ever had. Unfortunately with success comes higher prices and longer waits. So Uchi is a "special occasion" place for me.
