What do you think of H-E-B Sushi?

Body:

They've recently hired in-store chefs, what do you think?

I spent 15 minutes talking to one of the chefs, and came away with good impressions.. They get the fish in daily (not sure how fresh it is to the distribution centers..)

I don't know about the fish sitting there in that fridge for hours on end, but isn't that how it sits on the restaurant sushi bar all day? I've asked the chef for a special order Rainbow roll to avoid the packages in the fridge, and that was better than Origami's Rainbow roll..

6 Pieces (usually 2 each Tuna, Salmon, and another fish, changes daily) $$7.69
Rainbow Roll $9.99

wouldn't say it's cheap.. what do you think?

of course after the day fresh O Toro at Sushi Sake the HEB tuna is nothing.. I'm not sure if there's ripping me off or giving me a bargain considering i've definitely had worse at restaurants.. Origami was equivalent in quality the one time i went..

My recommendation is : STAY AWAY. I've also seen the in-store chefs (Volente Village HEB), which prompted me to try some HEB Sushi again. Alas, as in the past (I've grabbed HEB sushi for a quick fix here and there over the years), it was not up to par. And with Sushi, if you are close but not great, you might as well be terrible. HEB Sushi not only doesn't fulfill the craving, it ruins my desire for sushi for a good few weeks.
